Google Business Profile for plumbers in India

Updated 3 Oct 2026 by TopOnMaps team

Quick answer

Most plumbers go to the customer, so hide your home address and set the areas you cover. Choose "Plumber" as your primary category and list the jobs people actually call for, like leak repair, tap fitting and blocked drains. Ask for a review when the job is done and the customer has checked the water is running, before you leave.

  • Bathroom Renovator (also shown as “Bathroom remodeler”)Add if you redo full bathrooms.
  • Water Pump SupplierAdd only if you sell pumps.
  • Add "Drainage Service" if you clear blocked drains and sewer lines, and "Water Tank Cleaners" only if tank cleaning is a service you offer with the right equipment.
  • Add "Bathroom Renovator" only if you take full bathroom jobs, including tiles and fittings, not just plumbing parts.

Jobs to list

Photos that work

  • You and your team at work in a customer's home, with their permission.
  • Your vehicle or bike with tools, if it has your name on it.
  • Before-and-after of jobs, like a leaking pipe and the neat repair, or a redone bathroom.
  • Your tools and equipment, like drain cleaning machines.
  • A clear photo of yourself, so customers know who's coming to their home.
  • Don't show the customer's address, family or valuables in photos.

What to post about

  • Before monsoon, roof and wall seepage checks and drain cleaning.
  • Before summer, water tank cleaning and motor servicing.
  • Before winter, geyser installation and servicing.
  • New areas you now cover.
  • A tip for customers, like how to find the main water valve in an emergency.

When and how to ask for reviews

Ask right after the job, once the customer has tested the tap or flush and is happy. That's when they're relieved and thankful.

  1. Test the work together

Run the water, flush the toilet, or show the dry pipe. Let the customer see it's fixed.

  2. Ask before you leave

"If you're happy with the work, a Google review helps me a lot." Ask every customer.

  3. Send the link while you're there

Send your review link on WhatsApp as you take payment, so it's in their phone.

  4. Never knock off money for a review

Discounts for reviews are against Google's rules.

Whenever you ask, Google's rules apply: ask every customer, not only the happy ones, and never offer anything in return for a review.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Showing your home address

If customers don't come to you, your address must be hidden. Showing it can get the profile suspended.

  • Several profiles in different areas

Making profiles at friends' addresses to show up in more areas breaks Google's rules. One profile with a service area is the right way.

  • "24 hours" when you're not

If you say 24 hours but don't pick up at midnight, expect bad reviews.

Questions

How many areas can I add to my service area?

Google lets you add a number of areas. Add the ones you really go to. Google's guidance is that your service area shouldn't stretch more than about two hours' drive from your base.

I don't have a shop. Can I still get verified?

Yes. Service-area businesses can be verified. Google may ask for a video showing your tools, vehicle and proof of business.
