How to add your business to Apple Maps

Updated 3 Oct 2026 by TopOnMaps team

Quick answer

Sign up for Apple Business (it replaced Apple Business Connect), verify your organisation, then add your location under Brands and Locations. Apple asks for two verification methods, such as a business document and your website domain, and says review can take up to five business days. Managing your place card is free, and location management is available in India.

Who should list on Apple Maps

  • Businesses with many customers on iPhone: cafes, salons, clinics, gyms, boutiques in metro areas.
  • Anyone whose Apple Maps pin is wrong or whose place card shows old hours.

You can skip it if

  • You have no business documents in the business name yet. Organisation verification will be hard; get your Google profile and paperwork sorted first.

Free or paid?

  • What's free

Apple says businesses can claim and update their place cards for free.

  • What's paid

Apple Business also has paid device-management features. You don't need those to manage your Maps listing.

How to list on Apple Maps

  1. Sign up at business.apple.com

Enter your organisation's name, website (optional, but Apple says it can speed up verification) and address. Use a real person's name for the account. Apple returns sign-ups with names like "Admin".

  2. Confirm your email and phone

Apple sends codes to both. Add apple.com to your allowed senders so these and later emails don't land in spam.

  3. Verify your organisation

You get 60 days. Pick two methods, for example uploading a utility bill or lease and adding a DNS record on your website's domain. Apple deletes unverified organisations after the window ends.

  4. Add your location

Go to Brands, then Locations, and add your business. Search for it first; if it's already on Maps, select it instead of creating a new one.

  5. Put the pin on the right building

Drag the map or use satellite view so the pin sits on your entrance. Then set your display name, main category, phone with country code and website.

  6. Set hours and finish

Add opening hours, choose or create your brand, and submit. After verification you can add photos and action buttons like calls or bookings.

How verification works

  • Organisation verification needs two methods. Options include a business ID (Apple lists D-U-N-S numbers), a DNS record on your domain, or uploading documents such as a business licence, lease or utility bill.
  • Apple says this can take up to five business days, and longer when it's busy.
  • If your location already exists on Maps, Apple may offer a phone call to the number it has on file. You enter the four-digit code from the call.
  • If someone else already manages your location, you can request a transfer with supporting documents. Apple says that review can also take up to five business days.

Keep it matching your Google profile

  • Use the same display name as your Google profile and signboard.
  • Enter the phone with +91, the same number as on Google.
  • Check the pin position against your Google Maps pin. A pin on the next building confuses customers.
  • Upload documents that show the same business name and address you're adding to Maps.

Common problems

  • Verification emails never arrive

Apple specifically warns about mail filters. Allow all apple.com addresses, then check spam.

  • "This location is already managed"

Another organisation has claimed it, sometimes an old agency. Add it anyway, then request a transfer with your documents.

  • Old help articles mention Business Connect

Apple Business Connect is now part of Apple Business. If you used Business Connect before, you can sign in to Apple Business with the same Apple Account.

Questions

Is Apple Business Connect still available?

It has been folded into Apple Business. The place card tools are the same idea, now inside the new product.

Do I need a website to list on Apple Maps?

No. The website field is optional, and Apple accepts a Facebook or Instagram page there too. A domain does give you one easy verification method.

Is your Google profile right?

Directory listings work best when they copy a correct Google profile. Get a free audit of your listing and see what to fix first.
