Google Business Profile not publicly visible: how to fix it
Updated 2 Oct 2026 by TopOnMaps team
Quick answer
A profile usually isn't publicly visible because verification isn't finished, Google is still reviewing a recent edit, or the profile has been suspended. Check which one applies in your profile dashboard first, then follow the matching fix below. Newly verified profiles can also take a few days to start appearing.
Why it happens
Verification isn't complete
Until a profile is verified, only its managers can see it. A pending video or a code you never entered keeps it hidden.
A recent edit is under review
Changing the name, address or category can send the profile back into review, during which it may stop showing to customers.
The profile is suspended or disabled
If Google decided the profile breaks its guidelines, it won't show publicly until an appeal succeeds.
It's live, but you're checking the wrong way
Searching while signed in as the owner shows a different view. Check from a signed-out browser or another phone.
How to fix it
Check the status shown in your profile
Open your Business Profile while signed in as the owner and look for a status message about verification, review or suspension. That message tells you which fix applies.
Finish verification if it's pending
Complete whichever verification method Google offers. For video verification, record one continuous clip showing your signboard, the location and proof that you manage the business.
Wait out a review, without new edits
If an edit is under review, avoid making more changes. Repeated edits can restart the review.
Appeal if the profile is suspended
Fix whatever broke the guidelines first, then submit an appeal with documents that prove the business is real and operates at that address.
Check again from a signed-out device
Search your business name and city from a phone that isn't signed in to your account.
For businesses in India
- Use the same business name as on your shop board, GST certificate or shop licence. A mismatch is a common reason verification and appeals fail.
Questions
How long does it take for a verified profile to become visible?
Often within a few days of verification, but it can take longer if Google is still reviewing details. If it's been more than two weeks, check the profile's status for a suspension or pending review.
Will making more edits speed it up?
No. Repeated edits to the name, address or category can restart Google's review and delay visibility further.
